I've been experiencing chronic pain in my wrist from tendonitis.
I was seeing osteopath, RMT, physio and my family doctor who prescribed nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). For 2 months nothing was helping, my wrist got even more painful, range of motion was restricted and I was struggling to handle my 9 month old baby. I saw Dr. Jason for an array of issues the last two months, ranging from fatigue, anxiety/depression, and bell's palsy. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, kind, calm and answering all my questions diligently. He has a very holistic approach to health that is grounded in a strong scientific background, the way he coached me through my health issues was almost poetic in explanations of how to remove blockages/challenges my body was facing. As always, Jason was able to pinpoint (pun intended) the trouble of my lingering post vaccination arm pain and along with his knowledge regarding how the body heals to apply appropriate treatment for the issue I was experiencing. All provided in a safe and caring environment.

If you are suffering from cold for several days, I recommend Chinese herb from this clinic. I had bad cough for a week and Benadryl or Tylenol cold tablets didn’t seem to work. So I decided to visit Dr Jason and he provided Chinese herb to take for 3 days. Within 24 hours after taking the herb, my cough reduced significantly and I was in much better condition.

I have been receiving acupuncture treatment at Holy Family Acupuncture on a regular basis for the past year. I had surgery (radical prostatectomy) for high grade Cancer and it was found to have positive margins as well as lymph node involvement. I received Chemotherapy (Casodex), Hormone Therapy (Zoladex) and six weeks of radiation therapy. I have been receiving acupuncture treatments weekly throughout (with the exception of post-surgical days and during radiation). I have found that the acupuncture treatments are a benefit to my overall well-being and especially leading up to and following the radiation treatments, which takes a lot out of you. By all accounts, my BCCancer treatment team was very pleased at my ability to do the radiation treatments every morning and still maintain a regular work schedule and personal schedule, which included gym workouts. I know that the acupuncture treatments I received were and continue to be a great mind and body support to a body bombarded by all the Cancer treatments I received and continue to receive.

I love science, technology, etc and that makes it easy to appreciate the data/info provided by Western Medicine, but I want more than the symptoms treated and I'm utterly NOT interested in popping pills as cheats... as a trauma therapist I wholeheartedly (pun intended) support natural interventions like fixing sleep habits, actively exercising, eating healthy, etc... I have been greatly humbled by how much Jason has helped me modify my life, daily habits, to have the energy to go to the gym 2-3 times a week, increase my ability to hike 3-4 times a week, etc... I am addicted to what I'm learning about Eastern preventative medicine from Jason that minimizes dependency on test results in Western medicine...

I have been going to Holy Family Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine for my lower back pain and I feel lucky to have found such a good acupuncturist. I was in a rear end collision many years ago and got numerous physiotherapy treatments. However, the back pain didn't go away even after more than 5 years. I wish I had known Dr. Tjen earlier because I can definitely feel the pain healing after his acupuncture treatment and my vitality recovering with the herbal medicine he prescribed me. Let’s put it simple. I don’t go there a lot because he can diagnose very well and treat the symptom so well that I get better within couple visits. Unlike many other places, I always had good experience! He is very thoughtful and takes as many note as possible to tell you where the symptom was originated from. I really appreciate his hard work and I recommend my friends to look for Dr.Tjen’s place. There are free parkings available within the perimeter and takes appointment time via ONLINE as well which I found very convenient! Super recommended!
